چکیده

We address the question of different representations Bloch states for lattices with a basis, focus on topological systems. The differ in relative phase Wannier functions corresponding to diffferent basis members. show that can be chosen such way sites both become eigenstates position operator particular band. A key step showing this is extension Brillouin zone. When distance between within unit cell rational number, $p/q$, extends by factor $q$. For irrational numbers, zone infinity. In case distance, Berry lives cyclic curve parameter space Hamiltonian, extended distances, most stable calculate polarization approximate as sequence and use formulas derived here numbers. bases are related unitary transformations such, diagrams systems not altered, but each acquire characteristics when changed. example we use, an Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model, diagonal leads toroidal knots Hamiltonian space, whose winding numbers give polarization.

Dimensionality Effects on the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Model

A low order diagrammatic study of the dimension dependent Su-SchriefferHeeger model Hamiltonian in the weak electron-phonon coupling regime is presented. Exact computation of both the charge carrier effective mass and the electron spectral function shows that electrons are good quasiparticles in the antiadiabatic limit but new features emerge in the adiabatic and intermediate regime, where the ...

Spectral Properties of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Model

We present a study of the one dimensional Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model Hamiltonian by a diagrammatic perturbative method in the weak electron-phonon coupling regime. Exact computation of both the charge carrier effective mass and the electron spectral function shows that electrons are good quasiparticles in the adiabatic and antiadiabatic limits but novel features emerge in the intermediate regim...

Effects of the Lattice Discreteness on a Soliton in the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Model

In this paper we analytically study the effects of the lattice discreteness on the electron band in the SSH model. We propose a modified version of the TLM model which is derived from the SSH model using a continuum approximation. When a soliton is induced in the electron-lattice system, the electron scattering states both at the bottom of the valence band and the top of the conduction band are...

Path Integral Methods in the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Polaron Problem

I propose a path integral description of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger Hamiltonian, both in one and two dimensions, after mapping the real space model onto the time scale. While the lattice degrees of freedom are classical functions of time and are integrated out exactly, the electron particle paths are treated quantum mechanically. The method accounts for the variable range of the electronic hoppin...

Nonadiabatic approach to dimerization gap and optical absorption coefficient of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model

An analytical nonadiabatic approach has been developed to study the dimerization gap and the optical absorption coefficient of the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model where the electrons interact with dispersive quantum phonons. By investigating quantitatively the effects of quantum phonon fluctuations on the gap order and the optical responses in this system, we show that the dimerization gap is much m...
